    I am having some problems with the software. When I plug in my bb the computer recognizes it as new hardware. When I open up the desktop manager it shows that it is disconnected and that no pin is conneted to the computer. Any clue?? It use to automatically back up my bb when connected. Now nothing. TIA.

    From your description, I suspect your USB port has become corrupted. New Hardware Found mean the existing software is not working correctly.

    The USB software is part of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager package. Re-install it to repair the USB connection.

    Windows / Control Panel / Programs. Select the Repair option or a full reinstall.
