how does this work?

my blackberry shows as connected and i have downloaded the files

i tried to download opera mini

i save the .jad file however i am unable to add the application

is there a certain way that i must add it?

i've also tried with EQO, and games off the internet as well

basically i cannot add any download from my computer directly to my BB through USB except for media

can someone assist me? or link me to a tutorial on how to do so

i don't know if this is important or not, but i do not have a SIM card in my phone yet
thus i also have no data plan, and i do not plan on getting a BB data plan when i get one, just a normal phone data plan

1. You can't add an JAD application via Desktop Manager, those for over the air download/install.

2. Are you getting an error message pop up each time you try to click ADD?

when i load the application loader the message in grey pops up in the application loader screen

"The blackberry desktop software does not have blackberry device sfotware for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator"

i can still click add on the A.L. screen tho, however the files of type say ".alx" or ".ali"

can i only add these types of files?

or do i need to save the files in a certain folder under program files > rim > blackberry, etc

alx and cod = desktop install

jad = over the air installs

but i cannot add cod files

is there something i must do when i save them?

I just got a blackberry for the first time, and i am new to this site. Could anyone teach me how to download an app to my desktop (i dont have a data plan so no internet for me!) and then sync that app to my phone? Thanks!
