Default Transcoder is a memory hog!

Howdy. Quick question for you all... any time I open the BB Desktop manager (up to date version), not only does it take about two minutes to open, BUT when it does, the RIM Transcoder starts up and slowly but surely starts chewing on my RAM and CPUs like there's no tomorrow. Even without plugging in a device, (just OPENED BB Desktop) it's using 617,994K of memory.

The upside is that my computer has 6 gigs of ram and a quad-core, but even then, all four CPU's get pinned.

Remember, I have updated the software, and this happens without even plugging in a device. Any ideas as to why? Is this normal?

Thanks!
