9780 and Desktop Software communication error

Can someone help, please....

since Friday I have been unable to connect my 9780 to the desktop manager. it was after upgrading a number of apps through appworld. every time I try to connect to to DM it fails and says 'Blackberry Desktop Software cannot communicate with the connected device.'

when I connect the USB it acknowledges the connection but is unable to connect. I am able to use the Application Loader Wizard and Appworld with the same USB cable / port.

I was updating a number of apps previous to this fault becoming apparent (which ones I can not remember). Thinking this may be the cause, I have since removed all apps and app world but to no avail.

haven't done a security wipe yet as I'm hoping there's a method that won't need me to reinstall everything

any help would be much appreciated...

OS ver 6 bundle 2647 (v6.0.0.600)
desktop ver 6 bundle 2647

Go back to desktop 6.0 and it will work on 9780 ! and shut off auto up date on desktop. after thats done 6.0.0.600 will work

HI Mike,

have tried Desktop Software v6.0.2 B45 but had same issue... in process of trying v5.0.0 B28

V5.0 no better.

Don't want to try a security wipe at the moment unless I know it will resolve the issue...

Any other ideas??

Same thing happened to me ! DESKTOP 600.b042
1. unistall current d/t
2. install 600.b042
3. reboot pc
4. install the os ur trying to use,dont forget del vendor
5 finally open loader and install
