New Blackberry: Problem Setting up Email!
So I got fed up with my piece of garbage 8530 Curve that was giving me problems left and right, and I happen to have it still covered under Manufacture warranty. I took it into my carrier, and they swapped it out with a new/refurbished 8530 Curve for 20$. Everything went smoothly during App install, restoring my contacts, however when configuring my email, its another story.
I use two gmail accounts on my blackberry, one for work, one is personal. Everything worked fine on my old blackberry before I took it in today.
When I go to Email Settings, I till stall out at "Connecting to email settings..." for about a minute, then it will give me the error "Your device encountered a problem with this application's server." WTH...
So then I did the obvious, check to see if the phone was connected to the carrier network it was.
I have done the following in troubleshooting this: Pulled battery several times, Reload the OS, Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register Now... Then a battery pull, I have also tried configuring the email through the browser homepage by clicking email. I just cat seem to get anywhere with this thing

I'm not sure, but I think RIM's BIS servers might be having some problem. You might just have bad luck with the timing.
I have a client just BBM'd me that he's not getting email on his BlackBerry, but Outlook get's it fine. I just now sent myself email to a couple of BIS accounts (hotmail and gmail) and have not gotten them on my BB.-------------------------------------------------------------
