Default Will Cellular South charge for tethering

I have been able to tether since i got my Pearl back in November of 08 but do not use it very often. My question is can CS charge you for this. I have talked to them more than once about this. It is in their contract that tethering is not allowed but i had one guy with CS email me and this is what he said Technically there would not be a dollar amount charged for tethering. Since it is not offered or supported through Cellular South, it would not be a feature that would have a monetary value. The day before this I talked to A lady one the phone with CS and she told me if I was caught I would be charged but could not tell me an amount. What is everyones input on this.

You will not be charged for tethering just don't bog down the network ex. Using it for constant connections for days at a time. Your account will be terminated at that point . Random soft usage is ok.

My advice. I wouldn't especially if it clearly states that it's not allowed. This way you are safe. Now I will admit that I have tethered before just to see if I could do it but I haven't since. It's really two folds. If you and others (i know there are plenty others) all hit the network hard, it increases chances for failure for us all. I truly think if CSouth's network could properly handle the traffic they'd offer and/or support the service. My $.010

I occasionally tether with CS and have never been charged any additional fees. However, I only do it on an emergency basis (must have instant connectivity to the internet for a short period of time and have no other options). I would not push it too far though.

Where's my embarassed smiley?

is this it?

I tether constantly - actually have been on a daily basis. Never read the contract regarding tethering and a service rep said we could when I had asked a while back.
