Default What happened to the tethering?

The last time I had tethered my phone about a month ago but now it doesnt work. i downloaded tetherberry and it worked! except it was only a trial. Is there a way to bypass cellular souths block? I live in the middle of no where and tethering was my only hope on completing my online classes. now i have to drive 30 miles to town and use a family members computer. I know tethering still works on the HTC phones. I may just end up getting rid of the ole trusty blackberry.

CellSouth doesn't "allow" it anymore. They want you to use the air cards and netbooks. Basically another ploy to get money out of you b/c they know the bberry and android can do this as well.

I guess Cell South has blocked tethering again. I can't get a connection with my Tour, my wife's Pearl Flip or my bosses Tour. One of my co workers has a Curve, and he can't get a connection either. Does anyone know of a way around this? Will Tetherberry work? Please advise if you do as we live in the sticks and have no other options for high speed internet. Thanks in advance.

you can likely chalk this up to tethering being blocked. they have data cards now.

I've been having the same problem. Tetherberry worked fine for the trial. So, I purchased a copy. Best $49 I ever spent for almost a month. Then one morning tried it and it was ssssoooo slow that it wouldn't even load home page. But its awesome for limewire.LOL
I've seen several posts that said you could go around it by using your bb desktop manager and settin up a dial-up connection. I'm not a computer wiz, by no means, but I can follow simple directions and IT DOESNT WORK either. They tell you to get the MIP@cs3g.com # by pushing ##000000 on your phone and pushing the call button but when I do it on mine, its not MIN on mine, its MIP. Used it anyway. Didn't work!! Saw a post when someone tried it using that number and it worked for them. I am about ready to pull every strand of hair out of my head fooling with it. Yes I know it would be easier just to purchase the air card from Cellular South but the way I look at it is, I have 3 bb's all with unlimited everything, they already get right at $300 a month out of me. I'm already paying for "unlimited" data x 3, so it shouldn't matter how I use it or what I use it on. So, if anyone has any other suggestions, I would love to here what they are, try em and let ya know what happend!!
PLEASE!!!

Correction for previous post, they tell you to get MIN@cs3g.com # and mine says MIP.

Come to find out, they DO have a cap on their "unlimited" data plan and its around 5gb. But tether does work. Works well if you don't go over 5 but if u do, its ssssooo slow.
