[DEV][WIP] Walkaround for Tethering Cellular South Blackberry NO WORKAROUND FOUND YET
I just signed up to open a development (Work In Progress) thread for tethering a Cellular South BlackBerry to a computer. I was able to do this a few years ago with no problem. Since then, I have had a Hero, Milestone, and a Galaxy S. Now I am stuck with a Blackberry Pearl Flip because I don't know how to take care of a phone LOL. Anyways, I am now tethering using the free trial of "Tether". In my opinion, it is a LOT slower than tethering using the old fashion dial up way. However, I did some research and it looks like Cellular South has blocked this method. I have tried MANY different combinations to bypass this, with no success. I wanted to get a group of people together who are interested in testing and helping out in getting a work around for this. If you are interested, please just contribute. I will start by posting what I have found/tried.
My findings: - The connection fails because it cannot verify the Username and Passowrd.
- My phone says "Modem Mode Enabled" for about 2 or 3 seconds and then the dial-up errors out
- I am unaware if this a carrier block, if Cellular South changed the username and pass, or if it is a block on the Blackberry OS.
I have tried: - MIP@bb.cs3g.com - HEX CAPS
- MIP@cs3g.com - HEX CAPS
- wapuser - wap
- PHONENUMBER@cs3g.com - PHONENUMBER
- PHONENUMBER@cs3g.com - HEX CAPS
If you have any info, or any test results PLEASE post. We need to find a way back to tethering
