Default ? for Cellular South users

Do you have the Blackberry plan or the truly unlimited plan for smartphones?

I don't have a bb yet but I will be getting one when my contract is up in January.

Whats the difference in these plans?

The only difference is in the amount of minutes you have for voice calls. If you use your phone primarily for text messaging, short calls, and web stuff - then the Blackberry plan is for you. If you're going to do a lot of talking - get the true unlimited.

Blackberry plan has unlimited data and text - 500 minutes (9.99 for nights and weekends)

True unlimited has unlimited data and test and minutes...

big question is - can you stay under 500 minutes? I went over by about 100 minutes a few months ago due to various reasons and it was a rather expensive bill :P

Default Thanks for answering my ?

Yes to answer your question I can stay under 500 minutes. I seem to text more than I use my phone for talking. If I get that plan I would cut my bill by over $30. I wouldn't have thought that would be possible to do going from a regular phone to a blackberry.

I never go over 500 minutes. Most of the people I call are also with Cellular South, so it is free. And I do alot of texting and Blackberry messaging.

I have the Blackberry Pearl (Amathyst). I am using the Truly unlimited plan for $99.99.

I "had" Alltel. I was paying $139.00 a month for Unlimited Data and 1400 minutes. I said that that was rediculous and changed to Cellular South.

I would say that is a smart move and a big savings on my part.

I also agree with MrVoodoo, if you can stay under 500 minutes then the $49.99 Blackberry plan is for you. (night and weekends $9.99) = $59.98 (unlimited is only $40.01 more a month)

BUT, also like mentioned, if you even think that you might go over... get the truly unlimited, an overage bill, as stated, could be more costly than the extra money for the unlimited plan.

True...but only if you go over...night and weekend start at 7 and most people get off at 5 so you might as well wait those extra hours and talk all night long!

I love the BB plan...compared to what I paid as SPRINT! I'm a happy camper!

I know what I said above about Alltel, but I actually left Alltel and AT&T to come to Cellular South.

I had a HTC Touch (don't like it) with Alltel and a Blackberry Curve with AT&T.

I transfered my number from Alltel to Cellular South and got the Pearl.

My AT&T account goes out in November. So I just cancelled my Blackberry plan with them. I will keep the phone active until November, then cancel it.

So in essence, I turned two phones into one and saved BIG $$$

Basically here it is again from AT&T view.

I just upgraded this past weekend to a 8130 Pearl-Amethyst with Cellular South. I had the 8310 Curve with AT&T.

Some would claim I downgraded.

Cellular South Unlimited Everything (includes BES) $99.99

AT&T BES $45.00 w/voice package; unlimited texting for $20.00. (voice plan is a family plan [1400 minutes shared w/5 phones]; therefore, I cannot count the price since it will still be payed for wether I am there or not).

Hmm! $99.99 (Cellular South) vs $65.00 (AT&T) + $139.00 (Alltel) = $204.00

From Alltel and AT&T I saved BIG $$$ going to Cell South and I have a better plan that CANNOT be beat anywhere else...

I have the 49.99 blackberry plan, and I had to add text messaging, and free nights and weekends.. I never ever go over my minutes, and my bill is around $60.00... I have had this plan for 4 years now, and i have no complaints.

regardless of what other carriers change their plans to, it's still gonna be extremely hard to beat csouth. verizon thought they were doing justice with the 69.99 unlimited plan WHICH only includes voice. back to the drawing board, big red. lol
