Question Cellular South - Data speed question

Is Cellular South's 1XEV network the same as AT&T's 3G network, from a speed standpoint?

If not, which one is faster? What is the difference? I do notice that when I'm not in a 1XEV area, the 1X data speed is comparable to dialup. Very slow.

Not much difference between 1XEV and 1X from what I can tell.

The 1XEV is about equal to 512Mb dsl as far as what I can tell.. It loads pages much faster on the BB than just having ordinary 1X... However, sometimes it may display 1X when your in a 1XEV area and I've been able to get about the same speeds... Before CS was switching over to EVDO the 1X was extremely slow

CSouth advertises that their network has 3g speed so I would think that 1XEV would be comparable to 3g.

I"ll sure be glad when they extend their 3G coverage to where I live this year. I always get only 1X. I think its a little faster than dial up. But then again, I haven't used dial up in so long, I can't remember. In either case its slow as ****

Where I live my phone is always fast, my friends who have AT&T can't keep up most of the time.
