Cellular South and the "BOLD"

I went to Cellular South to purchase my wife a phone, (LG 300, blah!)

While there, I asked the rep if any new Blackberry's were coming out.

She said,

"So far, it is only a rumor, but, I have heard that the Bold is on the way. Hopefully it will be here by May."

MAY....

That means (maybe) in 3 months.... 3 MONTHS

we could have a BOLD at Cellular South...

Has anyone heard this yet?

What do you think?

Would you get the Bold?

I want to upgrade to the Curve and then go to the Bold when they get it but I was paying for the frequent upgrade plan at CS and now they say they are no longer letting people have the frequent upgrade feature. I have been paying for this and it is part of my contract can they legally do this?

I was going to get the curve when finances got better but if its true that they are getting the bold I will hold out for it. Maybe by May I can afford to get it.

I got my Blackberry last year. I was told I gotta wait 18 months to upgrade.

I might have to pay the full price for the Bold if it comes out later in the year.

I was told I could get it after a year on the current contract but you have to pay a $59 fee for early upgrade.

I've heard this as well, actually a little earlier than May, but we shall see. Would be nice though considering that Verizon has the Storms for 99 on Amazon. Nevertheless, we can't sacrifice great devices for sucky service!

I agree, if CS gets the Bold, I will def get it. I love CS phone service. You cannot beat it anywhere else. ANYWHERE!

I would like the storm too, but from what I have heard, I might not enjoy it. The Bold Sounds much, much better.

The Bold would be the ultimate, I have a friend that has one with AT&T and it rocks. I love my Curve but hate the fact that there is no streaming video and pray that if CSouth gets the Bold it will have streaming video. I would like to see the 8900 if the Bold wasn't available. I am due for my 6 month upgrade in April and definitely would get the Bold!!!

Isn't the Bold a GSM phone? CS has a CDMA network.

Yea it is for now and probably won't be changed but most people still hope for the best.

So why would they convert the Bold, a gsm bb, to a cdma phone? Wouldn't they have done that in the beginning? And I dont see how hoping for the best would magically make a gsm phone work on a cdma network.
