As far at the time it takes to acquire a signal, agreed it does take some time, and often several attempts. I'm hoping this problem will be better with newer phones that will be equipped with A-GPS instead of just standard GPS, regular gps has to find the satellites in the sky, and determine your location, this process can take anywhere from 1-5 mins in my experience. A-GPS uses the cellphone towers to pinpoint a general location and then tells the phone a general location to start pinpointing exact coordinates giving the phone the ability to acquire a lock faster. . A-GPS should acquire a lock within 30 seconds or less. A-GPS will be on the Tour.
