Default Any Cellular South using Sprint OS 4.5

Has anyone from Cellular South used the Sprint OS 4.5? If so, have you noticed any difference in it, good or bad.

I read the threads (not all of them 35 pages), and only noticed Sprint and Verizon so far are the only ones using it.

I assume (know what that means) that it is good for us (Cellular South). Sprint is CDMA right?

I believe that the version is 4.5.0.131

The latest Version I have seen here (other North American providers) is the 4.5.0.77

I am just curious to see if anyone else from Cellular South has upgraded to the new Sprint version.

I have seen alot of good posts, some bad about the newer version.

The two that come to mind are:

lower memory

less battery

Just curious if I want to upgrade to that OS.

I just got rid of my Pearl and got a new Curve

Right now I am using the 4.3.0.128.

What is your input as far as the upgrade. I know that the newer versions are better, but which is the best.

Should I go for the 4.5.0.77, or should I use the 4.5.0.131

Any input would be appreciated

I have been using it for about a week or so and the only differance I have seen is the bb browser now has a search bar. I have had nob problems with it. I just read that vligo works best with 4.5.

I am running it and have no problems. Also, I have no speaker blast anymore when I answer the phone.

First off, if you use RIM's upgrade site, your device will automatically be upgraded to .131. Since upgrade availability is based on your PIN/Carrier, that lets us know that CSouth approves of the upgrade.

I've been running it since it was leaked about a month ago. I have "0" complaints and think that it is by far the most perfect 4.5 release yet. The speakerblast and a few media issues were really the only problems remaining, but even those have been corrected in .131. You mentioned lower memory and less battery..which I think are both okay. Many people don't realize that immediately after an upgrade, your cache across all apps is "zero". But then you play and open/close apps in an attempt to see what's different....well that quickly builds a cache, so it's natural that memory decreases a couple of MB shortly after an upgrade.

Sadly, I had that happen ($150 thing) happen with my nieces phone. After a day of "fussing", nicely of course and stating my case, they removed the charge. In short, the store asst manager told me out of her own mouth that the phone was indeed bad and that she'd take care of my warranty...a few days later, i was hit wit that charge. i went back to the store and took her and them back to their word. they all witnessed what was going on with it; they all heard her say it. so it really left them no choice but to request a refund, which took maybe 2 days. i also made complained to the main office. that was her 2nd Pearl btw.
