Wow, no love for the old stuff huh? I'm not completely surprised, I knew it was a long shot asking $75 - but some folks are set in their ways and hate change. I'd let this go for $50 and ship it to your door.

Did a little research, and the 8830 only had very limited GSM bands, ONLY the European frequencies, so it will likely not work in Canada.

CDMA / 1xEV-DO r0 (2G / 3G)
850 Cellular / BC0 Americas, Oceania, Brazil, Israel
1900 PCS / BC1 Americas

GSM / GPRS (2G)
900 Europe, Asia, Africa
1800 DCS Europe, Asia, Africa

domestic GSM modes are not supported
