Verizon assimilated Alltel - Now BES won't sync
One of our Curve users was an Alltel customer, set up on our BES/Exchange server and able to send/recieve just fine. He got a letter from Verizon stating that he was now a Verizon customer (resistance is futile) and that seemed to coincide with his BES functionality ceasing to work. I've deleted and re-created his account on BES, connected his Curve directly to the BES via USB, downloaded the Security policy and Service Books to the Curve and while thus connected, he can send/recieve email no problem (though now all of his Calandar entries are duplicated on the Curve.)
However, as soon as I disconnect the phone from the USB cable the Curve no longer syncs and mail piles up in the 'pending' box on the BES. We have (had?) a mixture of Verizon, Alltel, and AT&T phones workign off of the BES, so finding the right carrier wasn't a problem previously. Note that the Curve still thinks it is an Alltel device when I pull its info thru BES.
Short of just getting another Curve from Verizon, anyone have any ideas, or run into this problem before? - 08-26-2009, 09:41 AM #2
I wonder if in the changeover to Verizon his rate plan was changed to one that didn't have BES access included. His phone is acting similarly to mine when I was trying to get it on a BPS without a ES data plan.
