Question Switching Employers & BES

Here's a rundown of the circumstances surrounding my question:

  • I was a contractor with 'contracting firm A' supporting 'corporate client A'.
  • contracting firm A paid the bill for my Tour's service and corporate client A added my Tour to their BES, which loaded their corporate policies on the device.
  • The support contract ended and corporate client A allowed me to keep the Tour (along with the policy that unfortunately was overlooked)
  • contracting firm A (who I'm no longer with) forgot to turn off the service to the Tour so I've been enjoying cost-free use but expect it to be shut down at any time.
  • I'm now with a new contracting firm (we'll call them 'contracting firm B') who has me placed within a new corporate entity (we'll call them 'corporate client B')
  • I'm about to move my Tour to my personal VzW account and phone #, which will be followed by adding it to corporate client B's BES.

...and my question is: will corporate client B's BES policy smoothly overwrite corporate client A's currently-in-force policy?

I was thinking about trying to contact corporate client A's BES admin and request that he replace the current policy that's effecting my Tour with a blank policy in order to at least mostly free it from any previous policy-induced restrictions (such as this residual password policy that I continue to have to deal with), but if corporate client B's soon-to-be-implemented BES policy will effectively and completely overwrite corporate client A's policy then I'd rather skip contacting the previous place's BES admin and ask that favor.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer this for me.

I would personally do a security wipe before activating on the new BES.
1.Create a backup,
2.Security wipe the device
3.Activate the device.

You can always do a 2.5 step which would be to restore the data to the device after the security wipe, then going through the blackberry desktop manager you can delete specific data, go in there and delete any service books etc which will be associated with your old company.

or just try 2.5 straight away, it's worth a shot

Thanks buddy.
I've gained control of the new place's BES and have added my BB w/ a blank IT security policy. All's well now.
