Default Swapping to my new Blackberry

Hi

I've just received my new Blackberry 8310, which is replacing my 8300. I am a business user and we are using BES.

Fairly simple question, which I cant find any quick answer to on the web - how do I simply swap Blackberrys on BES? I will be transferring the SIM card from old to new - do I then need to connect the new BB to my laptop which has Blackberry Desktop Manager installed on it?

In Desktop Manager, there's a 'switch device wizard' option - should I use this? I would ideally like all my settings and internet favourites transferred to the new device, too.

I look forward to your help!

When you register the device with the BES, your BES admin should be able to re-associate the device with your BES account (giving you access to your email and such on the new device, as well as any data that is stored on the server) - but using the switch device wizard should manage all of the settings that aren't stored on the BES server.

It should be a fairly painless process!

Good stuff. Maybe a silly question - how do I register the new device with BES?

Your BES Admin should be able to add your device for you, just contact that person and they should be able to activate it.

Your job will have a bes admin to handle all of that or a wireless support person.
