Default Strange re-occuring emails from network@etp1103.etp.na.blackberry.net

I'm trying to help someone who has an 8820 (AT&T - BIS, no BES), that has been receiving these strange emails today. The BB is configured with a work email account (POP3), and has worked fine for weeks. Today he bgan receiving emails from "network@etp1103.etp.na.blackberry.net", about every 30 minutes, on the work email account. The subject line reads, "RIM_bca28a80-e9c0-11d1-87fe-00600811c6a2" on each message, with the following text in the message body: This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.

I've never seen this before, and I have been using my BB (8310-AT&T) for my work email for some time with no problems. Any information/enlightenment that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

1.Delete the following service books:
*Desktop [CMIME]
*Desktop [CICAL]

2.Modify the BlackBerry Desktop Software configuration.

3.Verify the Redirector Settings icon does not appear in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

4. If the Redirector Settings icon does appear, uninstall the BlackBerry Desktop Software.

5. Reinstall the BlackBerry Desktop Software and choose the BlackBerry Internet Email option during installation.

6. Register the device on the network to receive the service books.

* Some differences may exist depending on carrier.

Default Recurring email: need more info

Could I get a little more detail on the steps involved to solve this problem? I figured out how to delete the two service books, but I don't know what you mean about modifying the software configuration. Modify it how?

Step 2 is check the config of the Blackberry desktop software to ensure that message redirection isnt enabled - you will have a redirector icon if it is installed/configured.
