Default Send/Receive off and on

Definitely a newbie here, but I'm on a lot of conference calls on my office phone and I'm always using my BB during those calls. I get a lot of "kickback" or "static" on my office phone because of my blackberry's send/receive function. Is there a quick hotkey to turn it off while i'm on these calls, like shift+????

Try standing away from your landline.

This may sound weird but I used to have the same problem with my old (Treo...sorry). I used to have to keep it at least five feet away from my landline just to prevent the constant interference. Then, one of the MIS guys told me to put some aluminum foil on the landline unit to help with the feedback. I can't remember what he did, and it looked stupid, but it worked. If anyone knows what I am talking about, perhaps you could explain what I am trying to so poorly?
Otherwise, maybe ask one of your MIS guys if they know what I am talking about?
