Searching for phone #'s recieved if not listed in address?

How can I search for a the history of a phone number that has not been entered into address book?

From the call log - highlight the number and press the BB button and there will be an option to "view history".

In mid Sept, I added this number to my address book, now when I search it will only bring up the calls since adding name. Thanks
