Question Outlook/Calendar Sync

I have a friend who has his BB on Sprint. His calendar on his BB syncs with his office outlook via wireless signal. Meaning he doesn't have to dial in or sync it himself. How is this possible and how can I do it? Every time he enters a appointment it gets transferred to his outlook across town on his desktop. Thanks

Your friend most likely has a BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) account instead of the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) accounts that consumer users typically have.

BES users get over the air synching of their Calendar, Email, Address Book, Tasks, and Memos. In return, they accept that the company can monitor all their email, log their phone calls, and in general control every aspect of their phone via an IT Policy: whether they can install apps, use the Media Card or Bluetooth, or access the internet, for example.

I've just described the RIM solution. There are Google Apps that can provide some degree of OTA synching. I haven't used those.

Google does have that. I had it on my 8700G. The only problem was that I could never color code the events in my calendar. It always came up in one category.
