How does BIS work with Outlook 2002?

Hello!

I am new to BB, I just purchased an 8130 (VZW). I am coming from the Treo 700wx, which I loved because of the way it integrated seamlessly with my outlook.

Now, I am struggling to get my outlook emails to my BB. My company uses Exchange 2003 and I have setup my BIS with my company email. My company does not and will not use BES.

I have researched for 2 days on this and have come up with one solution: have my IT admin setup a rule on the exchange server to forward my outlook emails to my BIS email address.

My question is can't I use BIS to check my outlook email? Someone with more experience please help me with this as I am searching every forum and viewing page after page of google searches to find an answer.

I absolutely love this BB compared to the Treo but if I can't get the BB to get my work email then it is basically useless to me.

If your exchange server has IMAP (an email protocol) enabled, you can set up your BIS email to use your corporate server and it should keep everything synched properly - it will handle all of the polling and everything for you, and you shouldn't need to forward your emails to your BIS email address.

in other words you actually need to get the "incoming" and "outgoing" server addresses from your administrator and setup your email account manually.
