Default Efficient Note-Taking in Address Book?

I know that the BB and the Palm are different animals, but I want to see if I can mimic one function from my old Palm m500 when using the BB (8330). I was never a Treo user.

My address book on the Palm is loaded with notes I have made during phone calls with contacts. This makes searching very easy. For example, let's say Vicious Lawyer (not his real name) tells me about 2 contacts he knows in San Francisco. I write these down in the Notes field of the address book entry for Vicious Lawyer. Later, I can't recall the 2 contact names but I just pull up his address book entry and there are the 2 contacts.

Very easy to do the above on the Palm. Very difficult on the Blackberry, since the only field for Notes entry in an address is the very bottom of a long scrolldown address screen. Is there any way to achieve this functionality quickly and easily on the Blackberry, with or without 3rd party software? I am quite willing to pay for stable 3rd party software that gives me this function. If the 3rd party software tackles the problem a different way, that's fine too.

Many thanks for your input.

When on a call, hit the menu button, and hit "notes" and you can take notes. It auto-saves them for you. To view them, go to call logs, view history, and your notes will be right there. That is the easiest way to do it.

Default What about alt-esc?

If I do alt-esc during the call, I can go to Tasks or Memo. Or I can go to address book, open the contact's info, and scroll down to Notes. If they haven't hung up by then.

Problem with notes in the call log is how short the call log list is..... At least that is my problen. I wish it held tons of calls like the treo does.

Oh can't help you there. a bunch of notes in one place and get sickening. But I only use it once or twice a week. But I guess you could use memo pad to take more detailed notes.
