Ebay seller has problem responding to buyer questions
I've searched and could not find this issue previously addressed on Crackberry. Not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes:
I make my living as a seller on Ebay. One reason I purchased my Curve 8330 from Sprint was to be more responsive to questions from potential buyers on Ebay.
I receive the questions OK, but as any of you know who have sold on Ebay, the auctions have a button labeled "Ask the seller a question". The buyer is supposed to click this button to have his/her question forwarded to the seller without disclosing their email address. The seller receives an email from Ebay containing an HTML button labeled "Answer question". Clicking this button opens the BB browser and directs it to Ebay's site. This is where the trouble begins.
The Ebay home page takes AGES to load, then when you enter your username and PW, the login button will not function. I have Java enabled on the browser. In fact I have everything enabled on the browser. But no matter what I try, I am unable to log in. As a result, I am unable to answer the buyer's question until I get to my desktop computer at home.
Sort of defeats the main purpose of the BB, doesn't it?
Does anyone here have the same issue who has come up with a fix or work-around? I would be in your debt if you would share it with me.
Thanks to all in advance and Happy Easter! - 04-07-2009, 07:23 PM #2
For me, I ask the buyer, in my listing, to provide their email address for a faster response. A few people actually listen and do, then I can respond directly form my phone.
It sucks how you can't just click "reply" and have it sent to the buyers account - 04-08-2009, 12:38 PM

I installed the Opera browser and it handles Ebay FAR better than the BB browser. I am actually able to log in and reply to questions. Its not perfect, but it is a work around. I'm still open to other ideas - Anyone?
