Drop down list in sheet to go?

Hi,

I see the user 'crookedbilly' asked this in Jan 2010 - but got no answer.


Does anyone know a way to create a drop down list in sheet to go?

It would be very useful for my BB users.

I normally use Data Validation on the Data menu on the PC to create a drop down. I cannot find this feature on the device let alone a Data menu item. To test the "we retain the integrity of the file" Docs2Go feature, I created a simple drop down using Excel2007 and emailed it and opened it with Docs2Go Premium and it did not keep the validation drop down menu. So looks like database features are not in the sheet software. Only other solutions I know of are Vlookup, Hlookup and Choose. 'Choose' requires that you know the number of the item you want from 1-29 and you would have to create the table for that lookup as demonstrated below.

Formula is in B1. Your "dropdown" entry cell would be C1 where if you enter the value 1 returns the letter A from A1 into B1, a value of 8 returns the letter H into B1. Click on the image to enlarge it.

Wonder if anyone from DataViz can tell us if/when this would be supported?
