Unhappy Day 32 - I crashed my BB 8830

Hello,

I received an email from Verizon today stating that there was a new maintenance patch that I should install on my BB 8830. While performing the install my laptop died. *I thought it was plugged in*

Well, now my BB doesn't work. Only displays error messages. I cannot even power it off normally.

I have removed the battery for about 30 minutes and replaced it. No change.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the patch. No change.

I called Verizon. That's where the day 32 bit becomes important.

Any ideas? Or must I purchase a new phone?

Thanks,
Neeva Candida

Hey- I did kind of the same thing to my BB once, and I found its just easiest to completely take the OS off, so that there isn't one on there..then load a fresh copy. I sugesst JL_Cmder. load this program and use it to completely wipe your handheld, then download a fresh copy from Verizon and run Blackberry Desktop Software and it should automatically put the OS on. this does seem drastic, so only do it if you feel comfortable doing it.

Connect your laptop to a power source, and start the process over! It should fine...

The only thing is you might have lost the backup that it does during the upgrade process...

Hi,

The JL_Cmder worked like a charm!

Thanks a bunch.
