Question Change the number on a company issued BB

I am sure that not unlike a lot of you I have a personal cell phone that I pay for (Verizon family share plan) and a BB that my work pays for (also Verizon).
The plan that my employer has with my BB is an unlimited data plan but the talk time is pay-as-you-go, no included minutes. I never use the BB for phone calls, it is only used for email.

I would like to take my phone number and minutes from my personal family share plan with Verizon and place that on the BB. I want to do this while keeping everything else the same on the BB as far as the data and email.

Does that make sense to anyone and has anyone done that?

Thanks

If your company BES does not allow a voice plan on the account, they don't allow it. You will need their permission to do what you want, and even then, I don't believe it will work as you will need.

You'd have to talk to your business' BlackBerry administrator.
I port numbers all the time for user's, it's possible but I'm not sure if your company allows that or allows the porting of minutes (I'm not even sure if thats an option to be honest with you)
I hope that answers your question.

I talked to the admin and they told me pretty much what you said pgerz. They can port the number but not the minutes.
If I can convince my boss to pay for my personalcell phone minutes I'll do it but I really don't use the BB for a work phone at all so I'm still dealing with two phones for now.
