Can you use blackberry messenger with BES?

My friend has a 8703, and I cant find her bbm. I tried to pin her and see if it is hidden but even in applications, its not on her phone. Can I install the new os on hers even though she is using BES? will it give her the bb messenger?

Bad idea. If her device managed through BES, she'd have to re-register the device (or have the BES Admin do it) and then any app disallowed by policy would be removed.

A better idea is to ask the BES Admin if BB Messenger is specifically disallowed, and if not, have them push it to her.

I loaded BBM on my device that is on the BES about a year after I got it and it has been working fine. I guess we do not have any policies against it thourgh. But like ssadowski said, it is always best to get the administrators permission when dealing with a device on the network.

I use BB messanger on the BES. Also to Ssadowski's comment, apps that are already on device that are not allowed by their IT dept will not always be deleted by their BES. It just depends...

Understood. I've always used BBs that had strict policy enforcement when in a corporate environment... I love having my curve now, though, that I can put anything on.
