A calendar or tasks app for multiple appointments at the same time?

I run a business hiring out jukeboxes etc.for parties.
At the moment I'm using the in-build calendar to reserve items for clients, but obviously that has limitations...It spits the dummy when you book more than one client at a time, then it only displays one 'All day event' per day.

My question is, is there a decent calendar/task App that lets me book multiple appointments easily?
Colour codes for different appointment types would be nice.
Or do I need to run something like Microsoft outlook? (I'm running Ubuntu on my desktop, so i'm trying to avoid M.S.)
I run the business myself, so I'm not going to use enterprise server or anything like that.

Just add calendar entries with times and descriptions for each rental I tried it on mine and had three entries for a time, this might work for you

That's what I'm doing at the moment, but if there is more than 1 'all day event' you cant see it in week view. I need the ability to have 5 or more things on at once.
