Default BES Emails arrive at least one to three minutes later than ActiveSync

I just set up my new Bold 9900 with my hosted Exchange account on Sunday. I still have my Android tablet connected via ActiveSync as well. When an email is sent to the email address these two devices are connected to the tablet gets that email anywhere from one to three minutes before the BlackBerry. Sometimes it takes longer.

Prior to this I was using an HTC Sensation on the phone line my 9900 is now on. It received email on the same account within 10 seconds or so...just like the G-Slate I am using does.

Can anyone give me a reason to explain why BES email delivery would be so slow? Is there anything you can suggest I do?

Are you actually using a hosted BES as well? You just mentioned hosted Exchange. If you're using the BIS to connect to OWA then that would easily explain the delay. Before we setup our BESx here we were seeing delays of 10-15 minutes while using BIS. After we installed the BESx Blackberry users were getting emails to their devices before they hit their inbox in Outlook by as much as 30 seconds.

Yes, it is a hosted Exchange server with BES. Interestingly, I was about to perform a full device wipe and start from the beginning, but decided instead to delete the Gmail account that I also have on the BlackBerry.

When I first got my hands on the 9900 I immediately set up my Gmail email account along with calendar and contact syncing. Then, once my BES and Exchange service added BES back onto my account (it was Exchange along with ActiveSync for my Android and Windows phone devices before adding this) I set up my work email account through that. This is the one that was receiving email slowly.

However, once I deleted then re-added my Gmail account, through the same BIS interface I added it from on the device in the first place, that Gmail account appeared to set itself up as though it was an Exchange/BES connected account as well. In addition, my official BES email was arriving as fast as it should be expected to arrive.

Weird?

Crazy, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Well glad it worked out. I'm pretty jealous of your new Bold. I stopped into a Verizon store yesterday just so I could look at a 9930. Work pays for my phone and of course the 9900 isn't out on AT&T yet. Enjoy!
