Default BES + BIS on the same Blackberry

Hi:
I went today to my carrier and requested to include in my plan BIS since I already had my company's BES; but wanted to also can push my personal mail. But once I added my first BIS mail account and sent the service books, the BES account stop pushing mail and also I lost access to the intranet. BES and BIS can work together right? Conecting my BB to my laptop and running again the activation process should be enough?

Please advice.....

Yes....you need to have a BES plan with your carrier....go switch it back! After you switch it back to BES, you might have to re activate your BlackBerry on the server, but you'll also have BIS.

Think of it this way....BES =BES and BIS , BIS is ONLY BIS.

I'm on a BES....but I have have BIS account too for my personal gmail....so the answer to your question is YES.

Default State Farm help

I am considering a Curve and work for State Farm. I wanted to confirm with someone that I will be able to access personal and corporate email accounts simulataneously. I know that some companies have privacy issues that only allow for corporate-owned/dominated BB use.
Help me so I can finally get my BB!

I have a BB 8130 and it's on my companies BES, but I also have 2 Bellsouth and 1 Gmail account on it. I am on Verizon's unlimited plan for data and calls.

I use BES constantly, and have a BIS account pushed all the time too. Along with 2 POP address that get pulled. Works perfectly.

Check your BES admins too. I'm aware of policies prohibiting BIS accounts when BES is being used. I'm not aware of one that disables your BES once you setup a BIS but that sounds like an interesting option. But check them last after taking care of the carrier issue first.

Ive been on BIS forever on my curve 8320 through tmobile. My company is about to setup exchange with BES. I will then have to upgrade my tmobile plan from Blackberry unlimited addon (delete it) and get Blackberry Enterprise addon for $30. Correct? The admin will not disable BIS, I know that for a fact. I have two work accounts setup on my BIS now, I guess that will be run through the BES once were up and running and my tmo.blackberry.net email and my 2 other personal accounts will still push through via my BIS correct? No problem here?

Also is there anyway that the BES admin can have a log of all of my sms/mms incoming and outgoing msgs?

We will be a small network, only 5-10 devices. Will be cool using exchange, I never have before but the idea of having sync with outlook, all of our contacts, and calenders synced together. It sounds great....

any feedback or things I should know before it goes live?

How do I keep my business e-mails (BES) separate from my personal (BIS) ones? Right now, when I get a personal e-mail, it copies it to both folders (I have 2 icons, the normal e-mail, where my business e-mails go, and an icon with a Yahoo logo over an envelope where personal e-mails go) but when I get business e-mails, it just goes to the main e-mail folder.

How do I stop my personal e-mails from copying to my main e-mail folder where my business e-mails reside?

OK, I have a quick question. I have my personal curve set up to push my work email to my phone. Since its been hooked up my web access has been restricted due to the companies default internet usage policy. Can the adminastrator turn this off to where my http traffic does not go thru the server? I know he can do it for everyone(which would be out of the question,)but can he do this on an individual user basis?

Inside the browser Try going to menu>general properties and change the default browser to "Internet Browser" instead of "Blackberry Browser". I was blocked from a site tonight until I changed this.

heres how it works. BIS is hosted from bb directly. So you have to have a BIS feature with your cell provider. Most providers have dual features (BIS+BES) alltels is called BES Plus. So if you want BIS and BES a feature like this is necissary. Also your BES admin must not have an IT policy that restricts having both. Hope this helps.

I don't understand the benefit to having BES setup. I am curr only using BIS and I get emails and calendar requests sent to my phone. I have noticed that co workers on BES get their a couple minutes faster. Is that because theirs is true push and mine is done by inquiry? I am very new to this and appreciate your help.
