Good luck with that...lol
I've heard that before...
It can't get any worse...with the internet and file sharing most albums don't sale like they did way back when. But the quality of music is becoming less and less with each year, but I have a feeling it can either swing back or sales get better in the new age of digital sales, myspace, and the elimination of so many corporate minded labels But the label is still needed, the musicians selling out the trunk of their car still isn't doing a thing

Oh yes...

I am under a binding contract not to say anything, but trust me. This accounts for all that and then some. This harnesses the digital age... and keeps it user oriented.

Ha. The only guy I know in the music business can't afford a blackberry...so you folks might be right about digital media causing sales to plummet.

I personally think buying artist direct -- from their websites -- is the way to go, but I'm probably in the loud minority.

I like how the labels are jumping on itunes and other legal download outlets to price the album cheaper and just have you download the artwork, as well as the other thing they are doing... packaging the new cd's with a bunch of added extra's (exclusive dvd, poster, stickers, etc etc) to make the consumer think they are getting more, but it only matters to the hardcore fans of the particular act to buy "extras" The middle of the road music consumer will still probably download for free instead of buying a physical cd or spending a bit less to download from itunes.

I think the best way to go is make the cd's between 8.99 and 9.99 and keep them at that price, that way there is no real excuse for people not to buy a cd for 10 bucks lol That way everyone is getting paid, they might not make as much as they used to and might have to buy korbel champagne instead of Dom P LOL

I have a fledgling label that I'm attempting to get off the ground. No idea if it will go anywhere, but if one can't dream...
