Plantronics 975 barely beeps

I have a Plantronics 975 paired to a Blackberry Bold 9000. The incoming call ringer is so soft and low that I cannot hear it in the car. Is there a way to make it louder? Also, no notifications are given for incoming email or text. Can this be changed? If not, is this because of the phone or the bluetooth device?

Your specific headset isn't capable of notifying you of anything other than phone calls. Unfortunately there is no way to make that beep louder (I have a Plantronics too and I agree it can be very hard to hear it while driving with music).

There are several free apps however that will read your sms and email messages thru your headset. Vlingo and Drivesafe.ly are two of the better ones.
