can't bluetooth my 8530 to wifes 9630

Hers is new and I can't connect to it with my 8530 or her old phone. What am I doing wrong. She's new to BB and isn't finding this funny. Thanks

it says failed to connect every time. they find each other but no other BT phone will pair with hers.

How are you doing the pairing?
Which device is initiating the pairing?
Have you tried it in the other direction?

I search for device with hers. it finds mine. asks both for password ask if it is ok to connect and then says failed. If I do it in reverse and search with mine, it does the same. If I highlight 9630 tour on my BT list there is no connect option. Like I said I can connect to her old samsung with the 8530 but not with the tour. It has to be something simple, just I'm not smart enough. Thanks for the help.
