Default Bluetooth Headset to Listen to Music, NOT Just Have a Convo

I've noticed that I can use my old jawbone with my 8900 and can talk and hear the other person, but when I try to use that same connection to listen to Pandora (or any other music) I can't get it to work...

Do I need to be looking at a specific headset? I was considering the Plantronics Backbeat as my next one...

Any tips?

There is a 3rd party app in this subforum that allows simple earpieces to play music. Search for btplay. Otherwise you do need special phones that play music.

I believe you need a bluetooth headset with A2DP.

I was wondering this myself. Which headsets have A2DP? I tried searching but couldn't find anywhere in any specs that the headsets had it.

Here's an app that is supposed to allow use with non-A2DP headsets.

BT8040 and BT530 from Jabra are pretty good headsets for both voice and audio. Personally I prefer the BT8040 over the 530.

@bergerking - thanks for the thread, adn thanks all for the comments.

It seems that the Plantronics Headset I was looking at earlier has A2DP, but only the 906, not the 903...

The 903 will support A2DP...if the phone does...
Plantronics BackBeat™ 903 Bluetooth® Headset
Bluetooth stereo support - If the phone supports the Bluetooth A2DP profile, the headphones can wirelessly stream music and audio. If the phone also supports Bluetooth AVRCP profile, the heapdphones can control music track forward/back.

If your looking for one that goes in both ears, moto s9 are great for that. As for just in one ear, I've been using the BlueAnt T1 and it's been fine for me.

You can find out which handset will play music via bluetooth by looking technical specification of any headset if it supports A2DP.
