Default Attention car owners with bluetooth system

I just bought a new kia soul 2011, has a bluetooth system. I pair fine for the first time but when I shut off the car and turn on, it'll never pair again. My car will say "pairing failed" repeatedly

Anyone else own a car with bluetooth and have the same issues?

It should only pair once. After that it should connect as long as it is a trusted device. Up to 161 no issues with Nissan.

If the 9800 is already unlocked it "connects" just fine w/Camry, but if the device is locked it "connects" (i can see the bars), but it won't make calls (.161 and .214). Once I unlock the phone once, even if it locks again, it's still good. Weird...

Let's be clear here. There is a difference between pair and connect. Pair is when you listen on one side and search on the other configuring the devices to talk to one another. After that each time they can see one another they "connect".

Paired perfectly with our 2010 Ford Fusion Sync system and connects every time with no issues. The phone directory transfers and all features of the Sync system work except the text message reader. I simply deleted my old 9700 from the Sync system and added the 9800 as the Primary phone and left my wife's 9700 as the secondary device.

Please look more closely at the user manual for your car's bluetooth system and the instructions for pairing the device. Your Blackberry Torch's bluetooth settings allow for you to set the device as trusted and to connect automatically, should you so choose. Pairing, as already pointed out in this thread, is a setup step.

No issues on my 2010 Chevy Equinox. Works just as good as my 9700 did.
