9700 and 1Mac Bluetooth connection

Hello everbodies
New to this 'cracking' forum so please don't shoot me down just yet.
I have just upgraded my BBold to a 9700 after 2 years of faithfull use.
My problem is that I also changed over to MAC's this year and I am hasving a big problem linking via Bluetooth.
We linked my wife's old Samsung onto the iMac and downloaded her ringtones without any problems. Then tried to connect my 9700 without success.
I have made the 9700 'discoverable' and the iMac appears to see it (as does the BB) but the 9700 does not show in the Bluetooth lst on the drop down Mac menu.
I know I must be doing something very silly but 'what'.
