I personally have the black Z30 and the black carbon fibre back looks and feels awesome. I do have a brand new white Z30 but thats still in box for sisters Christmas present so can't open that one sorry :/ Here are some pics of my Z30 taken with my Z10. The silver looks yellow cause I'm in a yellow room. Mind the little chip of the silver..... dropped the phone from about 5 feet (At least its durable). A friend of mine and I ordered our z30's on the same day. I got the black, and she got the white. She was saying to me that people always do a double take on her phone because they've never seen a white z30 before. I told her that people do double takes on my phone too, because they've never seen a z30 at all before!

Moral of the story is black or white, it's still a rare and nice phone. Just get whatever you want and what you could live with. I personally hate white phones, I had to use my wife's white Samsung for a little while when I was between phones and I hated every second of it (not because of the phone, but because of the colour).

I actually got mine white from Vodafone UK. But bought the carbon weave back.

Rocked that fit a bit. But converted the screen to black. Easy 10 minute job. So technically I have both.

White is more fun looking, non conventional,

Black is more professional powerful, business looking.

Depends what your after.

I've always gotten black but just now received my white Z30, and I like it. For instance it won't get lost easily. But note that it doesn't have a carbon fiber like back. It has a smooth back. I'm thinking about buying the black back some day. But waiting see how the white back feels when holding. I like the look of the white!

Although this question is about a month old, dunno what you ended up choosing - and I didn't see anybody comment on your case question.

Skip the leather flip case if you're getting it to protect the phone from drops. It does nothing for that. It's probably fine for protecting it in your pocket against keys & change, but when dropped it tends to flip open and land face-down, and also offers no edge protection for 3 sides of the phone.

I probably sound a little bit like a broken record about the flip case, but it cost me having to replace the screen on my g/f's white Z30:



It's in a clear tpu (Fosmon durafrost) case now.

Am considering the SIM-free offer of �279 here in the UK. Unsure of which colour to buy. The black looks smart but 'safe'. The white looks more 'plasticky' and wannabee Samsung.

Any views or advice? Anyone own both? Photos would be appreciated.

I had the same thought when I switched from my z10 to the z30 a month ago. Black looks super badass but I managed to get a white one for 300 bucks. I have grown to love the white z30. My only peeve is the plastic white back door. I have a white q5 as well and the rear door for both devices are similar (slippery plastic). I'm buying a black glass weave oem door next month to fix that. Right now I'm using a transform case. The front in white doesn't look half bad actually. To be honest, I hate that I love it... haha you'll grow on it. However, the safest bet would be the black one. Point is, no matter which you pick, you won't have any regrets.

Got a White on Sale because they were out of Black. Put a Black Flip cover on it. I am fine with it. I thought it would be a bigger deal than it was, but for $225 +tax I could not resist buying and glad I did.

Same here, got the white because that's all that was available in the big sale. Color preference is a personal matter, but if you like using the phone naked, the slippery back is a huge adjustment from a Z10 or Q10 (my prior phones, both in black). After two weeks I've not dropped it yet, but a number of close calls. I just ordered a black fiberweave back on eBay for $9--I don't know how it will look, but what's more important to me is to have the phone feel secure. On the other hand, if you want to use a hard case, the back on the white will probably be completely moot.

The decision is basically yours, if u r comfortable with white go with it, if not go with black. Ultimately it's u who have to be satisfied not me or anyone else.

Bought white to switch it up. Mistake. Should have went black. The white looks cheap and also looks pretty much like a Samsung when glanced at. Black!

I had a white q10 and although it looks good it doesn't feel anywhere near as good in the hand as the black q10. If it's the same with other models then I'd vote for black.
