What no one ever answers is does the -5 come in two variants like the Z10 STL100-3 did? (91LW and 21LW)

If so, you need to get a -5 that Wind or Mobilicity is selling, NOT one that Rogers, Telus, or Bell is selling. Yes, you will get LTE and the phone will generally work well for you regardless, but Rogers/Telus/Bell variants would be missing that 1700 band for UMTS which means in coverage areas with no LTE, instead of falling back to HSPA(+), you will fall back to GSM/GPRS/EDGE, unless you are lucky and are in a refarmed coverage zone.

To me, that's a deal breaker, especially since I rarely have LTE on in the first place. I rely on UMTS.

There's only one variant--the RFY111LW, and therefore they all have the UMTS 1700 band. Even Telus says as much.

However...someone I know here on CB reported having some issues with a South American -5 on AT&T. I don't think we ever figured out why.

I'm using a Z30 on t-mobile. I'm getting mainly hspa. But in some areas I get edge. I get edge maybe 2-3% of the time. So that should say something about t-mobiles rollout. I'm in south florida.

I've talked to T-Mobile reps several times recently and they swear up and down that they have the Z30 in their system and they will be releasing it in the near future (as doubtful as that sounds).

Maybe they are just saying whatever they think the customer wants to hear...

I have the -5 version from Bell and currently am on T-Mobile for a month. Both carriers give me 4G LTE.

I have the 100-5 unlocked model from Canada (Bell/Virgin) and I get LTE on T Mobile.

I also get the latest updates even when they haven't been released through T Mobile which is a nice feature. That's why I only buy the Canadian unlocked models.
