Not sure if it's gorilla but yes it has some sort of scratch resistant glass.

    Are you sure about that
Then does that mean I don't need a screen protector

Even phones that have Gorilla Glass are prone to screen scratches, so I would recommend using a screen protector anyway if that is a concern, don't let glass be the reason that you don't get the Z30.

Have had mine for months. No screen protector or scratch. Keep my phone in my pocket away from my keys, coins and other things that can ruin the screen. If you take care of it well, you would not have to worry about scratch.

I've gone both ways. I'm a big fan of Skinomi's protectors, but since I've had my Z30, I'm living on the edge and going naked. I find any protector detracts from the responsiveness, even if it's just a wee bit.

The screen is too silky smooth for a protector
I've had mine for about 4 months and no scratches.. I have a BlackBerry flip case for it

I have a z10 and I bought a pack of matte screen protectors and I use those. No use in risking getting the screen scratched and having to look at it every time I use the device.

Also, I like the matte finish

Got a wooden nail file snarled in my soft cleaning cloth unbeknownst to me. Got many "scratches" in my ZED screen. Used another cloth to clean. "Scratches" remained. Used Zeiss lens cleaning wipe on it. No "scratches" ! ZED screen is perfect. (Don't try this at home.). Doc Neutron

I have ghost armor on my z30. I'm very particular about responsiveness and how the screen looks. They installed it, and it literally is invisible. I would highly recommend it. I've had it on both my z10 and my z30 now

Get a screen protector either way. Even if it's scratch resistant, you'll be wiping off fingerprints and cleaning it constantly. With the screen protector you'll just be more comfortable.

I work as a renovation contractor and am on site in the dust a lot. My z10 has no protection and is carried around in a blackberry pouch clipped to my belt. Even after a years worth of use, the screen is still scratch free. Some saw dust and dirt does get behind the cover and the headphone insert hole but is easily cleaned out.

Not running my z30 naked though. I did add the ghost armour screen protection just in case.

Why risk permanently scratching your screen? I haven't noticed any touch screen response issues with my screen protector.

I dropped my z30 two weeks ago in my kitchen (wood floor) and unfortunately I scratched it, it's about 5cm long and looks horrible, so be aware. Z30 screen is not that tough as we think. Thanks god it didn't brake... my advice- use screen protectors !

I would say you have to see what kind of environment your phone lives in. I'm a tech I'm on the road and working on site, sometimes I have to put the phone in my tool bag because there is no where else and then I might forget it there till my next call.

I keep my phone in a tpu case and have always put a screen protector before using it. My phone usually looks brand new.

If you are in an office and put it in your desk etc maybe it's fine. On the weekend I take the tpu case off

    I flick!

for the first time since rocking this phone, i dropped it yesterday! i was in the gym doing the elliptical treadmill while listening to the radio, then for some reason i got my hand entangled with the wire hence the phone flew away then hit the ground from about my chin height (about 1.6m high), ouch!!

thankfully, the body of this phone is like a tank, seriously. the back cover, no scratch, it didn't got pulled apart, nothing, feels like usual. the side bezel, nothing (yeah it got flipped 90 degrees before hitting the ground with the screen facing up) and the screen is intact as well, maybe coz i put a screen protector as well so it kept the vibration sealed, but i just noticed there was a slight scratch on the bottom silver chin due to that. i should've tucked this beast inside the mighty Carbonite holster but i was so stupid i didn't have that with me at that time.

but yeah, whether it's a Gorilla Glass screen or not, the Z30's screen is similar or perhaps more advanced than the screen of the Q10, which is different from the touch-on-lens technology used on the Z10. if you see some videos on the Z30's drop test, i can safely say that yeah, the result is confirmed (not just "plausible").
