    Hi All,

So I noticed the other day that the proximity sensor on my Z30 was not activating when I took a call. That is, the screen would not deactivate when I held the phone close to my face. This can be tested by placing a call and waving your hand over the front top of the phone (near the speaker grille). If the sensor is working, the screen should black out and disable touch input.

I initially assumed it was a bug in the version of operating system I was running (a leak), so I reverted back to carrier default - but the issue remains.

I've tried many autoloaders etc, but it seems the issue may not be software after all. Possibly a hardware failure of the sensor?

Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips as to what I could try?

    And just to confirm:
I don't have a screen protector or such on the device. It's naked, and clean
I've tried multiple firmware versions, no go.
It definitely used to work when I first unpacked the device.

    Thanks in advance!

There is a BlackBerry app that tests the device for malfunctions. BlackBerry Virtual Expert. Try that.
