I was looking into BlackBerry phones and everything seemed cool. Then I decided to look into the cameras. These shots are a joke. I'll stick with my Nexus 5.

My dad ditched his Nexus 5 for a Z30 last month and could not be happier. Runs any of the Android apps he needs, has the HUB - nothing like it anywhere but BlackBerry- video calling BlackBerry to BlackBerry on BBM, the best virtual keyboard (and I have tried all the Android on my Tab Pro) and night and day better battery performance. The camera has improved or there is also the camera ++ app. Take the Pepsi challenge and try a Z30 for a month and then report back. ;o)

I miss visiting Tucson. My parents lived there for a good number of years.

I used my Z30's camera to take lots of photos while travelling around Britain and Europe during the summer. I found it more than capable!

The photos looks good and they are not that bad in comparison to my old phone, the Nokia Lumia 925.

Only thing I would complain about is the performance in low-light conditions, that's one area I found my Z30's camera faltering.

Other than that, quite a good camera overall; I took 1500 photos with my Z30 during my holiday and most of them looks really good.

Any advice for close-up photos? I'm finding that all the photos I'm trying to take are blurry and don't seem to be focusing correctly... the auto focus will do its thing... it seems to get it right, then keeps auto focusing a second too long and it becomes blurry. This seems to happen when the flash is off... I've played with all the Scene modes, etc and can't seem to take a good clear close-up photo (even though the clear image appears on the screen for a second during the auto focus process). I've also tried moving the focus area around and it still happens.

Unfortunately bb10 camera does not appear to do closeups or zoom photography that well. You will have to take at normal distance and zoom after the photo is taken with the pinch to zoom gesture. 4:3 aspect ratio works best for this.
