My Z30 is a beast, I'll probably wait for the Z50.

I'm keeping my Z30 until the next model with virtual keyboard comes out. I have no issues with battery life since my phone runs at about 30 hours of charge even with a leaked OS. I have no issues with my phone whatsoever.

I have a Z30 that I love and a Z10 that is my backup phone. I will be getting a passport though. It will be my main device. I will unlock my Z30 and use it as my American phone when I head south of the border. I can also use my Z30 and a passport if I run a mobile hotspot.

Most people would be leaving any phone (a Z10, Z30, etc) to go to the Passport, no? The only folks who wouldn't be abandoning a phone would be people who didn't own one in the first place.

If they are leaving a Q device it may make more sense to the OP

I ordered a Passport but canceled it as I wasn't sure.

I just visited a Telus store and tried the Passport out for about an hour. In the end I'm glad I canceled it - made the right decision.

Build quality and screen is excellent. However I didn't really care the the 3 rows of keys, and it felt a little uncomfortable in the hand. Although it's a great device I feel the Z30 is the perfect balance and will continue to use it.

That's funny, while others tell you they're sticking with or leaving the Z30 for a Passport. I'm actually thinking of coming into the Z30 family.

Having used a Passport briefly for a few hours (friend works for BlackBerry), I can say first hand it's an awesome device. But with that being said, I'm price consciences consumer so my thought process at the moment is to pick up a Z30 for a fraction of the price of a Passport and then wait for a Z10/Z30 successor.

By that time, I'll be out of my carrier contract and have a carrier credit on my account for an upgrade. And if nothing is out that appeals, I'll still be rocking the Z30. That's the plan!

    Look! It's Zedzilla10! ?

I've only had my PP for a few hours now.

Holy crap, puts my old Z30 to shame. Fast, and the display is bright and crisp.

I shudder now, when I hold up my Z30 next to my PP and think of switching back.

BTW, the Blend software is a- a- amazing!

I agree with you that the screen is amazing but I would go as far as saying it shames the Z30.

Now if the pp was available with a full virtual keyboard that would be a different discussion all together.

    For me? Yes.

the wider screen just makes so much sense. I can't go back. Sorry.

I also realize how much I miss my keyboard.

The extra speed is freakin amazing.

And don't get me started on the display. Put the Z30 and the PP side by side and you'll see what I mean.

So, yes, for "me", the PP puts the Z "to shame"

14.5 DAYS. You're original post was talking in hours.
Does seem a little odd that it's < the Z30 @16 DAY standby.
Bigger touchscreen powered for the wake-up swipe I guess.
But really, standby time or usage time, which is really more important.

    Passport for me!

I did just that while I was at the Telus store and it is vastly superior. No question about it. Speed wise, honestly I could tell the difference.

Well, I actually am back on my z30 after being on my passport since I received it last Friday. I have discovered that my right hand is giving me issues from arthritis and using a physical keyboard versus a touch screen one, my fingers just ache when pressing the physical keys.

As much as I love my passport, I ended up getting my z30 back and I am currently using it instead of the passport. The z30 is still a great device and even better with the 10.3 leak installed on it.

I am still going to keep my passport and I am hoping to get some medication to help out my right hand with the arthritis situation. If it improves, I might give the physical keyboard a try again. Right now, I am happy to be on the z30 again and rocking on BlackBerry OS 10.3.
