My device suddenly switched off (I think it bricked) while listening to music. It restarted after some time but now I am unable to connect my BlackBerry ID. Am getting error message "An unknown error has occurred. Please try again."

As a result of this problem, I have lost access to app world (it doesn't allow download of new apps nor update existing apps that are installed). Have lost connection with game centre. BlackBerry Protect doesn't switch ON.

Any guidance on what could have gone wrong, and how to rectify this issue?

try going into the setup menu & re-entering your info...

I have tried doing that several times but same error message. It's really strange to see everything else work fine including installed apps.

On a computer (or the Web browser on your Z30) open https://blackberryid.blackberry.com/bbid/login/. Logon and change some little thing. You can change it back soon after. You just want to force it to access your BBID in the BlackBerry NOC. That MAY fix it.

Next do this on your Z30: Open Settings-->About. Pull down the list and select Network. Tap the More (in the lower-right corner) and tap Register BlackBerry. That will re-register the phone.

Hopefully one of those two will fix it.
