    Default Z30 - damaged mainboard

I had an accident which caused my Z30 to stop working. First, only screen was dramaticaly damaged but the phone did not work even I replaced it with new one. I sent the phone to repair service and they diagnosed several scratches on mainboard.

Phone is generaly unusuable but Blackberry link recognises it.

I found few webstores which sells mainboard but I most of them (actually every but one) claim the mainboard is not working (NO pin etc...).

Store called Rounded (dot) com says that they got mainboards directly from Mexico where the Blackberrys are made. They say that their mainboard is fully working. Do you have any experience with that site?

Is it even possible? Or should I just sell my Z30 for spare parts (brand new LCD, battery, new covers, backcover... etc)?

    Thank you for your opinion.

Previous BB's are made in Mexico and other places. Mine was also, says so on the back lol, it sounds like a legitimate option if it costs less.

Actually, I have no idea if it can be "properly" repaired without the experts haha, you can definitely try and sell.

I've replaced a few screens, even housings and speakers.

But the main board being broken is pretty critical.

Sure there's a chance you could successfully repair it. But there's a lot to it.

I would just get a new one and keep or sell the damaged one for parts.

Absolutely. If you have to replace the mainboard, just get a new one.

If you end up selling for parts, I'd be interested in buying. I need a new screen for mine.

I am going to send whole phone for analysis which parts are still useful to local Blackberry store. New Z30 screen is more than $300 here in Czech republic, battery is like 96% etc... Got also emailed they may be interested in those parts in order to fill their spare parts "storage".

There's a shop in the UK that replaces the SIM readers. If you look in this forum, you will see a thread about replacing the SIM card reader and links to the repair depot in the UK.
