Yeah, I did that.
Came home from work, put my phone down on the counter like I always do. What I didn't know was there was something under the papers.
Slid off and hit the hardwood floor.

Device works, but I have this large cracked screen now.
Put in the claim this afternoon and hopefully will get the replacement tomorrow.

But what case/protector should I get now?
Whichever I choose needs to be as thin as possible, I don't want an otter box.

I was going to say Otterbox......lol. Not sure there are many case options. Trident? Transformer?

You're never wrong with an Otterbox case like the Defender if you need protection and sturdiness.

One of the reasons I went from the Z10 to the Z30, (besides being awesome) was the thin form factor design.
I don't want to sacrifice that by putting it into a bulky case.

I did. I have Verizon and called them up. Added insurance to my plan, and called them the next day.
Had my replacement device in 2 days.

I have the hardshell transform case on it now. Decent protection without adding much to the overall feel of ethe device either
