This looks insane. Anyone with a z30 can you confirm similar quality?

Here's a 'similar' (insect close-up) video I took a while back with the Z10... it's pretty decent, so I'm sure the Z30 is at least as good.

It's the exact same camera module as in the Z10. Good, but not class leading.

have you opened the Z30 to see if its the exact same camera module, it doesn't look like it. if it is the same module then hey they made some software tweaks, but it doesn't appear so

The zooming in and out feels different than it actually is on the Z30. I'm gonna have to not believe it unless the person proves it is a Z30 by using a mirror while recording.

"Though the Z10 and Z30 use the same camera module, you 10.2 does introduce grid line options, so you can line up your shots with the rule of thirds and keep your pictures level. We were also told that the autofocus logic was changed so that the shot would happen only once a focus lock was made. In the old version, it opted for a faster shot-to-shot time, which would inevitably lead to fuzzier pictures."

I thought they've done software changes for the camera on 10.2, at least the autofocus algorithm got some changes. So it might be quite possible they also changed some picture quality related stuff.

Why does it keep losing focus...because the lens must adjust as the camera is moved closer to the subject.

Module has been confirmed as the same (as Z10) on CrackBerry - would find and post the link but on the train, with poor data signal.

It wasn't even moving at the time. Camera and subject were stationary.

I find the camera actually focuses much better than my Z-10. Maybe updated on this version of 10.2. I was running the original 10.2 leak on my Z10.

When filming something like this and you want to move around but keep the object in focus remember that you can lock the focus up. To do this launch the camera and choose image or video. Once you have the object you want in focus tap and hold the square object in the screen until it pulses and a lock will be displayed. Now you can move side to side and the object doesn't have to be in that zone and camera won't keep trying to focus. Remember you can also move this focal point around for when you want a specific object in focus but not necessarily in the middle of the screen.

Attached image so you can see the lock symbol. To remove it simply tap and hold again till it pulses and goes away.
