It could also be that in that area the network band that was available was not supported by your phone but supported by the "phoney-i" - I mean iPhone lol.

Could be a number of issues.... cannot really say which is better as there really is not way of comparing... if you go by antenna specs perhaps but it is real world that counts... according to most the Z3o does have better reception but obviously not in all cases.....

I do know my wife's AT&T Z10 shows full bars, while my Verizon Z30 shows 2-3 in town. When were traveling, I lost signals for a long time, explain that! And my town does have XLTE.

Tower are a variable, land, tress , weather buildings. Wireless tech will always be shotty and vulnerable.

Don't blame the phone blame the carrier. One really crappy Verizon samsung flip phone. Had better signal than my damn z30...

What OS are you using?

When I was on previous leaked OS (.1016 I think), my Z30 had no signal at all where Note 2, iPhone 5s, and HTC One could make a phone call all the time.

Now I am using leaked OS .1154, it seems it's better but I haven't gotten a chance to go back to that same location for further testing.

All I know is that when I took a road trip, my Verizon Z30 rarely lost signal, and when it did, it was momentarily. Even in the mountains, I was impressed with the reception. Mine was the last to lose reception and the first to have it back....every time. There was my Z30, 3 GS3's, a GS4, and an iPhone 5S. All same carrier. Also, while my Z30 did not show a greater number of reception bars than any other phone, I always had good data connection inside the kids' school buildings where I never did with previous devices. Again, all same carrier. Its not something that is apparently obvious 95% of the time, but the Paratek antenna is superior in difficult reception areas.

Any comparison is not relevant unless on the same carrier, same location and same time. Time is relevant since at a given time, when there are many users in an area covered by a tower, the tower will reduce its coverage in order to make sure that the users using it don't have band width issues.

If above conditions are met, switch mobile network off and then back on and see what happens. Then conclude.

I have many spots in my town where my Z30 loses signal but this is due entirely to carrier coverage.

I am 100% sure iPhones dont't have better signal antenas.
