I have a 9900 att . I want to get a Z30 att compatible which would be model # STA 100-5 correct? Will my att sim card just go right in this phone and give me service or do I need to take it to an att store and have my service set up on this Z 30? How about my att address book will that transfer with the sim? I would rather avoid going to att cause they may try to get me to give up my Unlimited data plan.thanks.

You will most likely have to get a new Sim card but att can transfer data from your old Sim (Sim contacts etc) over to the new Sim card. Do you know for sure if the -5 works on att? I'm in Canada that's why I'm asking.

I have read on Crackberry forums that the STA 100-5 is the one that works with ATT ,even though ATT never released The Z30. STA 100-5 is a Sprint model that is supposed to work on Att. Thanks for your response

if your 9900 has a micro sim card it will go right in your z30, and i have my z30 on the AT&T/ cricket network and i am using the 100-5 model and its working great. enjoy your z30. or if your 9900 doesnt have the micro sim card you can cut down your full size to fit but be careful unless you know someone with a sim cutter and your contacts will transfer into the z30 if you have them saved to your sim.

I didn't know there were 2 sizes. Would a cell phone repair shop have a sim cutter?

If I were you, i'd just buy a new sim. They're like $10 (if not free) and will give you lte speeds which i'm assuming your current sim doesn't have.

If you cut the card just make sure you can make it the exact same size. Have a sharp scissors. I did it. Then, the Z30 might find the signal on its own if you just give it extra time to figure it out.. If not you can call atnt and tell them you have switched sims.

After cutting, the 9900 can use the cut sim without getting a simcard adapter, just slide it in there anytime you want.

My BB10 phones can be switched with my BB7 phones with one simcard now that they have all been on the network.

If you go to atnt for a simcard instead, or after youve wrecked yours trying to cut it up, they dont charge for replacement sim cards.

Not wanting to use the atnt addressbook myself, this last time I migrated my contacts from my 9900 to my Classic using nfc / bluetooth. It was a bit tedious to get it to work, though, not knowing what I was doing.

Moving to the Classic now i got a simcard adapter so the card can go back in my Bold until i figure out what all the changed settings are about from atnt to the Classic. The simcard adapter I had is the black plastic snap-in type from TMobile, no chance of it popping out of the adapter and messing up the pins. Not all simcard adapters are equal or safe to use.)

You have to get new micro sim card. And you can transfer your contacts from 9930 to z30 using BlackBerry Link Software.
