So a cell phone shop in my area has the Z30 for $349 used/mint condition. I would just have to pay to have it unlocked. Should I do it?? Coming from a Z10. That much difference??

Boy that is tempting. There are been some great discussions, so you may want to read some of those threads. It is going to boil down to personal preference, tho. There are pros and cons either way. As a woman, i am just not so sure my hands could make the reach. I can hardly handle the Z sometimes, and frequently have to brace it against my body when using one handed. And since 10.2.1 I am in love with my Z all over again. Still ... at that price ...

I know!!! I know I could get a decent chunk for my Z10 on eBay (bundled with cases and extras) so I'm VERY VERY tempted!! I have only had my Z10 for one month (coming from a Q10 on Sprint) and miss the nice battery life my Q10 gave me. An even BETTER battery life just sounds sooooo nice and the speakers on the Z30 were nice as well.

I paid $500 to upgrade from Z10 to Z30 (decided to keep Z10 for a backup) and have been happy with the decision. If it fits your hand comfortably, I think you'll be happy with the upgrade. If you are considering selling your Z10, the upgrade will cost you even less than the $350.

I just got my Z20 a few days ago (Yay!) and am pretty happy with it. I was coming from the z10, and gave it to a family member in exchange for their trade in. The Z30 was practically free for me, so I was pretty pumped. It really is a great phone, but coming from the z10, it isn't a gigantic leap. Take this with a rain of salt, I LOVED my Z10. That being said, the battery on the z30 is noticeably better, the keyboard is even nicer to type on, and the speakers do sound fantastic. It is a great upgrade, and I would recommend the jump, but it's not as mind blowing as I expected (which could just be me, again).

Again, not trying to rain on your parade, but I also believe an honest review is the best judge for purchasing technology.

I would keep the Z10 just in case the Z30 doesn't work out once the honeymoon phase is over. There are threads on people going back to the Z10. I played with the Z30 for a while at the store and it was not the right fit for my hands.

I paid 600 plus tax for my Z30 and I went from the Z10. And I'm so glad I did, it's worth it! Especially since u should get a decent price for seeking your Z10 it shouldn't cost too much

I got mine for the same price about a week and a half ago and am happy with the upgrade from the Z10. As you've read from many others, the battery life and sound are keys. Huge difference in both. As for size, you get used to it pretty quickly. Beyond battery and sound, however, it's basically a bigger Z10. I know I wouldn't have paid much more for it, and having had it for a while, I think $350 was a good limit for me.

The one and only question to ask is, which model is it?
It could be $200 and it wouldn't be worth anything if it gets you stuck with 2G. Make sure it is either model 100-3 or -5. (Since we all know there is still no 100-1 yet)
The one you need is 100-5 although -3 will also work but that's a verizon phone, you can easily spot the difference, and you don't need to unlock that.

Which store is this? I see you are with T-Mobile and mentioned US$, it's very surprising for anyone to sell Z30 that's not a verizon branded one in USA.

Last word: If it is 100-5 and in good condition and given that you don't pay more than $10-$20 to unlock it, BUY IT. That's an amazing deal. I paid $675 after taxes for my STA100-3

Like the other post mentioned, find out which model it is and test it with your sim card! There's an eBay listing from a phone store that mentions in the description the sim card reader is jacked and may or may not read sims(now you've got a blackberry equivalent of an ipod)

Man, that's the steal of the century. In my searching (in Canada, mind you) you would be extremely lucky to find it for $450, let alone $350.

I upgraded to Z30 from Z10 and bit a $500 bullet. So worth it.
